It is the story of a Wednesday in early June 1923. At 10 a.m., Clarissa Dalloway goes to Bond Street to buy flowers for a party she's throwing. A noisy car passes by and Clarissa looks out of the store where Septimus and Lucrezia Warren Smith were walking. Septimus suffers from a mental disorder and doctors, such as Sir William Bradshaw, are often needed. Clarissa returns home and receives a visit from Peter Walsh, the man she loved as a young man. Peter leaves Clarissa's house and goes to Regent's Park, where he sees the Warren Smiths, on their way to Sir William Bradshaw for a visit. The visit lasts three quarters of an hour but Septimus must be admitted to the clinic. At 6:00 p.m., Septimus jumps out of his room window. The ambulance, carrying Septimus' body, passes by Peter Walsh. At the party Clarissa learns of The death of Septimus, with whom she feels a strong connection
