audience/purpose

extremely geared towards older adults who are interested in politics

purpose is to inform people about the political situation? possibly with criticism of politicians

more professional and is better for adults who have important jobs such as CEO's, etc

typography

only uses serif fonts, meaning that each part of the broadsheet is being serious and professional

gives illusion that is more credible/reliable (most likely is compared to tabloids)

little to no coloured text - meant for clarity, serving their audience and purpose effectively

fancy, old style calligraphy

giving hint that they have been around for a long time, hence are more credible than other newspapers

beneficial for seeming professional - goal for audience to persuade them to buy the newspaper

propaganda?

body text

text-to-image ratio is more equal

despite empty space gives illusion that there is a more in-depth coverage as it looks like there is more text

uniformly formatted to fit the entire page's rectangle set

not really propaganda, but lots of political commentary

not fake information, but critiquing certain political beliefs is benefiting other political parties

demographic

extremely clear demographic for this newspaper

politics - for older population as not only are most politicians old, majority of the older population is more invested in politics rather than the younger population

beneficial for the newspaper as older people are also more old-school meaning they are more likely to buy physical newspapers, providing better business
