Recognition

The recognition of a discrepancy in the student’s academic, social/emotional, behavioral, and/or physical ability.

IEP meeting
Legal contract between parents and the school district outlining the plan for the agreed upon time. Usually an academic year.
The contract specifies goals, needed materials, transportation if needed, duration, among other things.

Reevaluation
-
IEP team meets to evaluate the year's plan, and discuss next year's plan.
The student is reassesed with a battery of tests every three years. The IEP team can request a reassesment more frequently if desired.
