400 million births were prevented. Fertility and Birth rate decreased. The difference between the birth rate and the death rate decreased. Families that already had one child, were often undocumented so they were violating the policy, leading to many problems later on for those children like struggled to receive an education or find work.
What is the One Child Policy?
The one-child policy is a method to reduce Chinas population. This meant that Women could only have one child.

Negative:
The number of female babies killed, abandoned, or placed in orphanages increased. There were more men in china than woman. China was left with a bigger aging population and low fertility rate.

It was introduced to reduce China's population o it wouldn’t over populate. This way they would limit the amount of children that a family had.

If you only had one child they offered financial benefits and they provided contraceptives to implementing forced sterilizations and forced abortions. Also people that followed this policy had better employment options. This way they ensured that everyone was following the policy
