TOPIC 6: GROUP ACTIVITIES & MEETING INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES
What is group activity?
any sporting activity involving, or conducted by, an organised body of people which body can be joined by any member of the public who is eligible for membership, and "group" has a corresponding meaning.
What is Individual differences in group?
more-or-less enduring psychological characteristics that distinguish one person from another and thus help to define each person's individuality. Among the most important kinds of individual differences are intelligence, personality traits, and values.

Steps of brainstorming
1) The teacher writes the topic on the board and calls for ideas from the class
2) allowed to seek for clarification, but not to delete items on the master list.
3) each person makes his own list of ideas
4) students then ranks these ideas in order of importance
5) The whole class then votes on the ideas in order of importance from rank one to five.
6) Ideas receiving the most points are then discussed in full
Why panel discussion important for group?
Helps students to collect information, hold a group discussion, come to a conclusion about the issue, then present it to class.
The class activity is divided into three main parts:
1 )Introduction or instructional part
2) Activity period
3) Presentation or plenary session
How plenary session helps individuals in group?
Helping students become better learner
Helps to summarize the topic on subject they have learned
Teachers role in instructional part
Introduces a topic or an issue to be discusssed
Generates discussion by asking some general questions
Brief discussion, provide some form of outline to guide the students
Gives specific instruction on what is to be done for the next 30-40 minutes
Students role in activity period
discuss the topic in their groups
reminded about the importance for everyone to participate and air their opinions and at the same time to agree on a common view or stand
discuss the strategies of presentation and the examples
chairperson permits smooth discussion and better use of time
keeps a record of the main points which emerge from the discussion through the group approach has met with some success

Physical difficulties
Students with significant health problem such as asthma, obesity, poor nutrition, lack of physical activity and poor oral health face numerous challenges and barriers to fulfilling their potential and achieving academic success
Socio- economic background
Students come from different family's background such as low class family, middle class, and upper class family
Culture/ intellectual level of children' s parents
We live in community which come from different culture and we have to respect each others
Parents have taught their children about their culture
