Reporting offers and advice
We can use 'offer' and 'advise' with a 'to-infinitive'.
Ex1: "If you like, I'll find more informaion about the company that you are applying to." -> My friend offered to find more information about the company that I was applying to.
Ex2: The career adviser: "You should develop your communication and planning skills." -> The career adviser advised us to develop our communication and planning skills.

Reporting orders and requests
We can use the structure 'tell/ask someone to do someting'.
Ex1: "You must study hard for the final exam." -> Our teacher told us to study hard for the final exams.
Ex2: "Will you be able to start the job this week?" -> The employer 'asked me if I would be able to start' the job that week.
The negative is 'tell/ask someone not to do something'.
Ex1: "You mustn't skip classes to do your part-time job." -> My parents 'told me not to skip' classes to do my parttime job.
Ex2: " Please don't rush into marriage before graduating and getting a good job." -> Our parents 'asked us not to rush' into marriage before graduating and getting a good job.
It is also possible to report an order or a request like this:
Ex1: My father 'told me that I had to spend' more time on my studies.
Ex2: The job applicant asked if the company provided computers for all employees.
We ca also use the structures 'ask to do something'
and 'ask for' when someone have something.
Ex1: "Could you tell me what skills I need in order to get this job?" -> The applicant asked the head of the human resources department to tell him what skills he needed in order to get that job.
Ex2: "Can I have the company's brochure, please?" -> I 'asked' the interviewer 'for' the company's brochure.
