GREEN PEOPLE INDIA
About the Organisation
The Green People is a community that is working towards a conceptually new blend of Eco-Tourism, Agro-Tourism and Rural-Tourism. Our efforts are driven towards the economic development of rural India by offering insight into the impact of human beings on the environment and thus bridging the gap between rural and urban India. The organisation has two verticals.
Two Main Ventures
Bakri Chhap
Bakri Chhap is an FCMG Brand that boasts assorted indigenous Himalayan millets, pulses and honey in its portfolio. The brand works with nearly 120 farmers directly and 500+farmers indirectly across 35+ villages. Each TGV doubles up as a farm produce collection centre-cum-retail outlet for Bakri Chhap.
The Goat Villages
The Goat Villages are a set of farm retreats and homestays across Uttarakhand. The organisation has partnered with locals across the state and managing them to create basic lifestyle experiences for visitors.

Walk The Talk
The organisation is extending its footprints to Corbett Tiger Reserve which is an initiative for the women and by the women of Ringoda Village. Green People in collaboration with renowned naturalists is training the girls to create a first-ever female guide village tour experience in CTR.
Bakri Swayamwar
What started off as an idea to encourage and educate goat herders about breed improvisation of cattle (mostly goats) turned into a swayamwar for goats. The first BKS took place in Pantwari in 2017 and was listed among the 'Top 5 Social Impact Projects At Indian Responsible Tourism Awards 2020'.
