Industrial Revolution

Urbanization
All at once, people started moving into the cities, these were the main hubs of the Industrial Revolution as the factories were all in the main cities.
-
This was the first time in European history where the population moved so close together. People had never lived in such close density before.
Many poorer members of society were forced out of their land due to the enclosure of the Agricultural Revolution. It was common for even peasants to own land earlier in this time, with land came honor. Since most people owned some sort of land, they had some space for themselves and distance from others. During the Industrial Revolution everyone was forced to live extremely close to one another.
There was another major problem in the cities, where was everyone going to live?
Tenement building: A large building where a small, specific space is allocated to each family.
Many people moved into tenement buildings, these buildings were poorly made and allowed for little to no ventilation or hygiene
A whole family would live in each room, sometimes families would share rooms.

Working Conditions
-
Workers were expected to work long hours and a repetitively throughout the week, around 12 hours a day and 6 times a week all for the minimum wage back then which was a lot less then now.
Many factories and mines were filled with dust that not only made it difficult to breathe, but could cause diseases including cancer. Other places were unsafe fire hazards where they dealt with flammable chemicals or fireworks. The smallest spark could set off a blaze or explosion. Many children were killed or got sick working in factories.
There were no regulations or laws against child labor during this time. children were considered ideal for working in factories, they could fit into tight spaces, they were cheap labor and they could not protect their own rights
-
They were also forced to work in extremely dangerous conditions. There was almost no ventilation in these spaces and many harmful fibers and substances were in the air. Children were often put to work on dangerous machinery, this led to many injuries in children.
Agricultural
-
1700's, wealthy people began buying up the land this term was referred to Enclosure.
The Impact of Enclosure was improved farming methods such as Crop Rotation and new inventions such as Jethro Seed Tull - Seed Drill the result of this was more production of food and an increase of population.
Crop rotation is the practice of growing a series of dissimilar or different types of crops in the same area in sequenced seasons. It is done so that the soil of farms is not used for only one set of nutrients. It helps in reducing soil erosion and increases soil fertility and crop yield.
The Seed Drill is a horse-drawn seed drill in 1700 that economically sowed the seeds in neat rows, and he later developed a horse-drawn hoe.

Class Tensions
During this time period, class tensions would increasingly get very high due to the very obvious social hierarchy that was established. Social classes were all dependent on one's wealth. The poor were usually very poor and lived in tenements that were crowded and prone to disease while the rich were usually very rich and lived in large houses and had access to their basic needs and much more
While the rich lived lavish life styles in fancy houses and worked well paying jobs, the poor lived in tenements that were crowded and were paid very little. They were prone to getting illnesses and the living conditions were rough, causing the suicide and death rates to skyrocket. Lower class people did not have access to medical insurance so they would usually succumb to it, while the rich did have medical insurance and rarely had to commit to such hard labour.
There was little structured education and it was expensive to send a child to school as someone the lower class, which was why many children worked in factories. For the rich, school was something seen as common as many rich parents sent their children to school. Police encounters with rich people were usually organized and were handled with care, but lower class police was disorganized due to the influx of lower class people.
