Personal Goals
Flexibility
Flexibility is not very important to me when it comes to work. I would want to work as much as I can to make sure my business is operating smoothly and succeeds. I have plans on hiring and training a team that can cover the business if I need some time off.
Location
My business would allow me to live wherever I desire. Of course, I would love to live in the city, in a well-populated area. This would be beneficial to my business because in a busy area, there would be a lot of foot traffic and customers.
Travel
Of course, I would enjoy to travel every now and then. Traveling is not a necessity for me, but an occasional vacation might be nice. I don't plan to travel for the first few years into my business in case anything were to happen, I would want to be there. If I were to hire on employees and train them to be able to run the business while I am away, I may take breaks and travel occasionally.
Family Involvement
I know my family will be very supportive of my business, and probably even work with me for additional help that I may need. I would love to hire on and work with family members because they are people I love and trust.
Physical Requirements
I do not have any physical requirements that need to be considered. For my employees, though, occasionally lifting heavy items (i.e. 50lb bags of sugar/flour) may be required. This business would require workers to be standing most of their shifts and occasional breaks are given. I would address limitations that people may have and would be open to working with them to make them more comfortable while working.
Professional Goals
Social Interaction
I do not have many peers and colleagues, so social interaction would be limited. I would plan to contact them every few weeks to reach out, touch base and stay up-to-date on eachother.
Involvement in Daily Operations
During the startup of my business, I would like to single-handedly run and operate my business, until I need to hire on additional help. I would love to be open to the public 8 hours a day, and either 6 or 7 days a week.
Expertise, Skills and Preferences
I have many skills that I would bring into my business, including customer-service experience, education, problem-solving, determination and motivation, responsibility, creativity, leadership, confidence and a strong work ethic.
Job Security
Job security is important to me and I would need high job security to feel comfortable. Working for myself, I have a much greater job security than if I were working under someone else.
Future Professional Goals
I would love to expand my business into numerous places. I can see myself staying within the same business in the long-term, while adding and creating new and exciting products for my customers.
Growth/Lifestyle Business
I see my business more of a lifestyle business. Of course, I would love to grow and expand to reach more customers, but I am focused on my personal objectives before growing into a larger business.
Future Personal Income
I believe that I would be okay and content without an income for roughly a year. Luckily, I do have a husband who works and can single-handedly support himself and I.
Investment
To fund my business, I plan on taking out a loan that I will repay back overtime. I believe a loan will cover most, if not all, of my startup business costs. I would be willing to accept an equity for some ownership in my business, depending on how much money my start up and maintaining costs would be.
Maintaining Majority Share
If I were to take equity, I feel that I would want to maintain majority ownership of my business. With a mix of the two, I am confident that I can do that given the amount of funding I will need.
