Elderly patient with stomach cancer recently had a feeding tube inserted into his alimentary canal to bypass the esophagus,stomach and duodenum. He also states that he had his gall bladder removed years ago.

Physical: The stomach muscles contract periodically, churning food to enhance digestion. The pyloric sphincter is a muscular valve that opens to allow food to pass from the stomach to the small intestine
Chemical: chemical occurs when in mouth when food is being chewed and mixed with saliva this process is enzymatic processing of starches. In the stomach chemical continues with both acids & enzymes
Alimentary canal is long tube of organs that allows passage of food starting from the mouth,esophagus, stomach, small intestine(duodenum&ileum), large intestine (colon& rectum), anus.
diet for patient
high fiber: beans,oats,lentils,whole grain bread, etc..

When the gallbladder is removed, bile made by the liver can no longer be stored between meals. Instead, the bile flows directly into the intestine anytime the liver produces it. Thus, there still is bile in the intestine to mix with food and fat.
the patient will have difficulty digesting fat therefor a diet will be specifically planned for the patient
