        attachment of muscles
        
        binds the tibia & fibula
        
        3.resists the downward pull
        exerted on the fibula
        by the powerful muscles att to the bone
        (-the biceps femoris is the only muscle
        that pull the fibula upwards
        -all the others pull it downwards)
