What is a contagious disease?
Often, a sick person transmits infectious agents to another person.
How can microves enter in our boies?
They can enter trough different ways:
Through contaminated food, for example salmonella
Through contaminated air, for example, tuberculosis
Through contaminated water, for example cholera
Through insect bites, for example, malaria
Though a cut in the skin that has not been disinfected properly, for example tetanus
PREVENTION OF INFECTIONS
Take care with animals. Take pets to the vet whenever necessary. Make sure they have all their vaccinations.Wash your hands after touching them
Wash your hands before eating and after going to the bathroom, changing a nappy or blowing your nose
Avoid sharing cutlery or glasses
Do not drink water unless it is drinking water
Do not walk barefoot in wet places, such as pools and changing rooms
Cook food well. This way, any microbes on or in the food are killed before consumption
Keep home clean
Wash your hands before handling food. Wash food, especially food eaten raw, such as fruit and vegetables
Clean and disinfect wounds
