Tooling
Right tool right job
Faster safer better
Quality tooling {time lost}
Pay a tool allowance
Ensure tradies turn up with a minimum standard toolbox
Provide storage for each crew
Big ticket tooling items must be on a register
Fatigue Management
Blue & White Collar
More hours doesn't equal more productivity
Leads to disconnected employees
Poor decision making
Total hours, break times, start n finish times, daily and rnr travel times and quality rest and recreation breaks
Stores
Must have a computer system
Excel spreadsheet that allows tool stock codes
Store personnel are to be suitably qualified
Stores to be in a compound and only stores personnel and management have access
Recruiting
Bums on seats causes many problems with company/client/contractor systems not followed
Communication
Banned tooling how is that information delivered to people ordering, where is the register etc.
you can't expect supervision and superintendent level management to arrive cold and hit the ground running
Shift handover communication should not be "grapevine delivery" .
Handover
Both shifts together to set Project priorities not the individuals priorities
Workforce handover face to face for the finer details, at a minimum tradie to leading hand hand over.
