Me At Work
I value a job position where I'm able to express my creativity and be able to look back at my work and be proud of my contributions to the project. I also value the ability to grow within a company and have a company culture that's open and fun that makes me look forward to going to work every day.
I think that my personality type matches the work I want to do very well. My personality assessment showed me that I'm caring, creative, supportive, flexible, and idealist. I appreciate the potential in everyone and want to help them in any way. I like to come up with new ideas and ways of doing things and enjoy projects that explore new concepts. It also showed that I like to work on projects with other people in a cooperative way. A lot of my personality traits are a great fit for becoming a graphic designer.
My work ethics includes being a productive and reliable employee who can take on tasks, whether their difficult or not, and be able to do what needs to be done in order to get the job done. I have a positive attitude whenever I'm in the workplace, strive to be a self-motivated employee, and motivated to learn and grow within the company.
Having honesty and integrity is important to me because I want to be able to trust and have a positive relationship with the company I work for and its employees.

Living expenses can vary depending on what part of Columbus you plan to live in. Compared to Bowling Green, it costs roughly 20 - 30% more to live in Columbus than in Bowling Green. The average cost for a one-bedroom apartment in Columbus is $944 a month. A two-bedroom apartment would cost roughly between $1,100 to $1,600 a month.
Fiscal Responsibility/Needs
My budget doesn't cover my leisure or free-time activities. The budget mainly consists of cost and expenses such as rent, utilities, groceries, college loans, and transportation.
My current spending habits are not the best, I often shop for things that are absolutely necessary right now and eat out due to my lack of cooking skills :) I do plan on after graduation cutting back in order save money in the long term. I plan I cooking more at home and only shop for what I need, not what I want or wish to have.
After researching living expenses, I think I would just need to alter a fews things, nothing drastic. I'll actually be saving some money for the first year or two after graduating by living with a family relative in the Columbus area. I would still of course pay her rent, but it will be much cheaper that starting out right away in a new apartment.
Long Term Goals
My plans for when I have a steady income is to of course put money towards my Savings, Insurance, Retirement, and 401K.
Design Management positions can earn up to 70,000/year in the Columbus area.
My long term financial goals include saving for a car, saving towards buying a home, having a solid retirement plan, and ensure myself that I have enough in my savings for any unsuspected emergency expenses and for my family's future.
Life - Long Learner
I plan on continuing to educate myself by join graphic design associations and associations that relate to my company's business. I could also continue learning and earn certifications within my field like the Adobe Software Certifications.
I stay up to date on industry trends through multiple social media pages and professional career sites. I follow various well known graphic designers in different industries (marketing, sports, freelance, etc.) on Twitter and Instagram. I also follow various companies on LinkedIn and social media to stay up to date on the graphic trends that they use for their marketing and social media materials.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the employment of graphic designers is projected to grow 3% from 2018 to 2028. While this is lower than the average of other occupations, it also depends on the industry you're designing for. Graphic design for mobile advertising, video, and social media has grown rapidly in the last ten years. It's expected that the job outlook for these types of jobs is to increase to 21% from 2020 to 2024.
Currently, I don't see myself pursuing another degree, but possibly down the road once I've gained some more experience in the industry I might see a need to pursue another degree. If I do eventually decide to get another degree, I would probably get a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or Graphic Design/Fine Arts.
