Planes were used to drop bombs on cities and or on an enemy base. They also had a gun on the back of them so that the passenger could be able to shoot other planes. the purpose of the submarines would be to sink enemy ships that would usually stock types of equipment and people on them. They were also able of running undersea without sinking. A famous event where a submarine submerged an enemy ship was when the Germans sunk the Lusitania. Poison Gas was a new form of technology applied throughout the first world war. This weapon released harmful chemical towards anyone that didn't have protection. They were often thrown inside of trenches. These were first largely used by the Germans and then everyone else started to accommodate to it. Tanks were an extra new invention that was used through WWI. These were heavily armored vehicles that were remarkably powerful and could take out a large number of troops with a few shots.Machine Guns were a new form of combat technology that was invented. These guns created a lot of casualties as they could take out a large number of men quickly due to its high fire rate. All of these thing greatly increased the number of casualty on any side.
Total war is when there is an unrestricted amount of resources that can be used as opposed to a limited war which has a limit on supplies.As for rationing, it is when each person is only allowed a certain amount of food. Propaganda is when information sharing is biased and pointed towards one.
Trenches this was where soldiers would live at during conflicts. One team would push and try to get the other side of one's trench. This would be difficult since the other side would normally have machine guns exterminating the soldiers. Ultimately, one team ends up obtaining over the opposite trench. That area between both trenches was named as no man's land because if you went to that area you would get shot. Soldiers met many though challenges living in the trenches with infections being a popular way soldiers died. They were spotted on the eastern border of France. This transformed the ways countries as they used them for protection from the enemy. A stalemate is when either side cant make any progress on the war in which nothing is occurring.
The Schlieffen plan was the operation of a designated attack on France.The french where the ones who won the war. This led to the Britain declaring war on Germany. The battle of Verdan was a battle in which was fought from 21 of February to 18 of December of that same year in which the french lost more soldiers.therefore losing the battle . The way this affected the battle was that it was one of the longest battles. Battle of somme was a joint operation between British and the french to archive a victory over the Germans on the western front. The way this battle affected the war was that it gave the french and Britain an upper hand in the war against the Germans in the war.

The triple alliance consisted of Germany Australia -hungry and also Italy. As for the major leader which where involved it was Otto von Bismarch which brought them all together.

The alliance which the USA joined was the alliance of the allied powers. The two events which caused the USA to join the war was because Germany sank many American merchant ships and they also because the USA did not like what the "Zimmerman telegram" said. This was a turning point because it made the defeat of Germany possible.

An armistice is an agreement made by both sides in which both sides in a war stop fighting for a certain time. The reason Russia left the war was because of a treaty known as The treaty of "Brest-litovsk" which was a peace treaty between Russia and the central powers. That ended the participation of Russia in the war. The way this affected the war was that it allowed the Germans to focus on the Western front. And also pressured USA to send out more troops.

Wood Wilson was the president of the united states of America at the times of 1913 he wanted to make an organization with many nations and also proposed the 14 points. George Clemenceau was the prime minister of France. He wanted Germany to pay for all damage which they had caused. He wanted Germany to make they're military weaker to avoid another invasion from them or further issues and also threats from them.David Lloyd George was the prime minister of the United Kingdom. And David also wished to end the war in a non-violent matter as opposed to fighting. Vittorio Emanuele Orlando was the prime minister of Italy. He wanted to make Germany pay for all the damage which they had done to France. He also wanted to make sure another world war would never occur again.

Self-determination is a concept that is a sense people with the same ideas and determination can create their government. The way this can help prevent future wars is by if they have the same ideas they could completely just come together and make a government or even a state. The main reason Europe states resented this idea was that this provided the people a reason why to leave and also to fight back against not having the same ideas as this would become possible once they have created their government.

This treaty of Versailles held created by France united states the British and including Italy. Germany did not partake in the making of this document. Germany was punished greatest considering they had to diminish their military had to give their land up and also pay for the damage which they had produced. Some short term results were that Germany took a huge blow due to this treaty. But the long term effect was that this caused world war 2.

M stands for MILITARISM which is the belief that a country should hold a strong military to defend. This looked like a strong country that had a large military. The way European countries practice this was by having a large military. The way this contributed to the war was that the military received more funding and increased their spending also.
A stands for alliance.This looked like a team in which the ones in the alliance helped each other in times like in wars and such.The reason European countries practiced this is so that they could be safer since they could get help from others.This was a cause to WWI because the central powers where surrounded by triple Entente.
I stands for imperialism. this looked like a search for raw materials in which it lead to wars.The way European countries practice this by going on searches for materials.This was a cause to the world war because this increased the tensions of war since they often competed for the same market.Which led to hostility in that they wanted to acquire as much as possible resources.
N stands for nationalism. Which looked like pride one's couturier which took part in one's county citizens. The way European countries took part in this was by their people becoming passionate to win the war. This was a cause because countries had opposition to their desired interest which often caused tension to rise.
The short term cause or rather spark was the assassination of a world leader of that time that sparked the first world war.Also many lived in fear of death an things alike.
On the date of June 28, 1914 Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. His assassination brought some controversy as it was believed that Serbia staged the assassination. This angered Austria-Hungary as they declared war on Serbia and then Germany an ally of Austria-Hungary also declared war on Serbia. Then soon after other nations started declaring war.
The person who was Gavrillo princip he was the one who assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Australia. The role he played was by assassinating the person he assassinated which in turn sparked WWI.So in a sense he started WWI due to him murdering him.
