Why is it Unique?
Most of the plays during this time period mostly contained themes such as tragedy, instead this play contained love, and mercy.
This play was partially based on a true story in which a bunch of sailors had been struck with a Tempest.

At the same time, a great magician named Prospero and his daughter Miranda watch the shipwreck from a distant island.
Prospero reminds her of how he used to be the duke of Italy before his brother kept an eye on his place.
Before, Prospero and Miranda were left stranded at the sea but were saved by Prospero's magic, which lead to their stay on the island for 12 years.
Both shared the island with spirits, including Prospero's spirit servant named Ariel, leaving another human on the island named wild caliban.
The ship which was caught in the storm consisted of Prospero's enemies, inluding his brother and the King.
Prospero starts to believe that his enemies have been brought to him so he can carry out his revenge.
Ferdinand, the king's son unknowingly gets separated from others from the shipwreck.
He is discovered by Prospero and Miranda and Miranda falls in love with him at first sight, while the other people from the shipwreck are sad because they think Ferdinand is dead.
They soon try to plot against one another, as they all want to control the island.
Eventually, Ariel brings them all before the king and Prospero forgives them, as he reveals that Ferdinand is not dead and gives his blessing for Miranda and Ferdinand to get married.
