-
The glomerular capsule, also called bowman's
-
Renal corpuscle consists of a vascular pole where arterioles attach to the glomerulus, and tubular pole where the renal tubule originates
The renal tubule portion of the nephron is composed of the proximal convoluted tubule, nephron loop, and distal convoluted tubule
Nephrons with relatively long nephron that extend deep into the medulla aid in the astablishment of salt concentration gradients within the intertitial space that allow for the regulation of urine concentration
-
The region of the nephron that regulates filtrate formation and blood pressure is called juxtaglomerular apparatus (JG)
Two types of nephron
Cortical nephrons
Are oriented with their renal corpuscles near the peripheral edge of the cortex and have a relatively short nephron loop that barley penetrates the medulla
Juxtamedullary nephron
Their renal corpuscles lie adjacent to the corticomedullary junction, and have their relatively long nephron loops that extend deep into the medulla.

General information
-
Osteoporosis
Bone disease that occurs when the body loses too much bone, makes too little bone, or both. As result, bones become weak and may break from a fall or, serious cases, from sneezing or minor bumps.
Hypertension
Occurs when your blood pressure increases to unhealthy levels. Blood pressure measurement takes into account how much blood is passing through your blood vessels and the amount of resistance the blood meets while the heart is pumping.

Osteoporosis
-
-
-
Many of the therapeutic agents used to treat osteoporosis are known to be affected by the renal function.
