Historical Context
Refers to the communication participants previous interactions and pre-exisitng relationships which influence expectations, perceptions and communication patterns
if you had a negative experience with someone you are interacting with, you might be more reserved towards them
If your friend always laughs at your jokes, you expect them to laugh when you tell a joke, and if they don't you might be disappointed or suspect that they are upset
Psychological Context

When we are in a good mood, we interact with others in an open, friendly way, whereas if we're in a bad mood, we tend to be more rude and withdrawn and can snap at them
Cultural Context

Some cultures believe speaking loudly in public is improper, whilst others believe you should to show that you are not gossiping
