Austro-Prussian War
Conflict between Prussia and Austria over control of Schleswig and Holstein. Urged on by Bismarck in attempt to gain total power for Germany.
It was a Prussian victory which meant Germany got toal control and excluded Austria. Led to further unification in German and sense of national identity

Franco Prussian War
between the Second French Empire and the German states of the North German Confederation (Prussia had power) over German land. Part of the after math of the Austro-Prussian War.
The german states led by Prussia beat France and allowed for th creation of the unification of Germany. German empire was declared at Versailles palace in 1871.
