This station will give students the creative freedom to film “natural phenomena” such as volcanic eruptions, mountain formation, etc. with models they have created from the 3-D printer or recycled materials. Special cameras and video cameras will be available for them to use.
Having a green screen set-up in the classroom will allow students to enhance their stop motion animation films with intriguing backgrounds and special effects.
This area will be filled with laptops, tablets, and a few 3-D printers that students can utilize to research, design, and create models of various structures of the Earth using the program Tinkercad.
The philosophy behind this makerspace is that children are naturally curious, creative, and imaginative and I wanted to foster an environment that allows them to use these qualities to their advantage in learning. They should be allowed to take control of their learning and my hope is that this space will enhance their engagement and creativity, and open doors for endless imagination.

This area will be full of bins, buckets, and drawers filled with recycled materials that students can use to create different models and landscapes that compare the structures of the Earth's surface.
