Compare one person or thing with several other
Compare one thing or person with another one
The ending for short words is -er
Quick= quicker
If the word already ends in -e, we just add the letter -r
Late= later
Comparative with two or more syllables
use "more"
Im-pa-tient= more impatient
The ending for short words is -est
Quick= the quickest
We can use much or a lot before an adjective or adverb to emphasise the difference
To emphasise how something changes, we can repeat comparatives, or the word more with and in the middle
Slower and slower
More and more impatient
How one thing changes when something else changes
The slower the bus went, the more impatient the people become
Irregulare comparative and superlative
Good/well= better= the best
Bad/ badly= worse= the worst
Before the second term, we put "than"
For adjectives and adverbs that end in letter -y and the sound -ee
losing the letter -y and add letters -ier
