Examples:
Active Voice
The teacher teaches the students.
In this sentence "The teacher" is the subject of the sentence because the teacher is performing the action.
The action in the sentence is "teaches".
The students are the object of the sentence because they are receiving the action.
Passive voice
Pizza is eaten by Diane
Pizza is the object of the sentence because it is receiving the action.
The verb "to be" is "is".
The verb in past participle is "eaten".
We are using by.
"Diane" is the subject of the sentence because Diane is performing the action.
Formula for Passive voice
Object + "to be" + past participle + by + subject
