PROCEDURE
1st: Supervised preparation time (15 mins)
student is shown two visual stimuli --have to choose one and prepare a presentation on it
Part 1: Presentation (3-4 mins)
Student must describe stimulus while relating it to the relevant themes and cultures
Part 2: Follow-up discussion (4-5 mins)
Teacher expands on what the student has presented and engages the student on the theme they have chosen
Part 3: General discussion (5-6 mins)
Student and teacher have a discussion on 1/1+ themes from the 5 main themes

Teachers are encouraged to interact with the student, but the assessment shouldn't be mostly the teacher talking to the student. The presentation should be controlled by the student.

Examines the student's command over the language

Lowest- Basic grammatical structures
Highest- Variety of basic and more complex grammatical structures

Lowest- Errors in basic structures. Ineffective communication
Highest- Accurate. Minor errors in complex structures acceptable. Communication is effective
To what extent is the vocabulary appropriate and varied?
Lowest- Only appropriate sometimes
Highest- Appropriate, varied, Idiomatic

To what extent do pronunciation and intonation affect communication?
Lowest- Pronunciation is inaccurate. Very frequent
Highest- Pronunciation is right and easy to understand

Preparation (Ved)
Visual stimuli
Can be a photo, poster, illustration or advertisement
Image can not contain text which provides student with vocabulary

Lowest - continuous struggling to answer
