- - - - "ALS" Trained in between 1,000 and 1, 300 hours and is the most advanced provider within EMS. Mostly 2 year program (associate/bachelor obtained) in which they possess all skills of previous levels in addition to EKG, intubation, medication admin via IO, IV, rectal routes, etc. Called upon often to assist BLS unit,
  - - - Trained in between 200-400 hours in providing additional skills than that of an EMT to include IV therapy, advanced airway adjuncts, etc.
  - - - "BLS" Trained in 150 hours in providing essential knowledge and skills in the field, “responsibility for assessment, care, packaging, and transport of the patient”. Being the backbone of EMS, they are equipped to provide any care an EMR can provide before ALS arrives, such as pulse ox, manual/auto BP, assistance in medication admin, etc.
  - - - Good Samaritans may also be trained in first aid and/or maybe off duty physicians aiding a patient as well
- - - - Legislation and Regs: State EMS office responsible to authorize, audit and regulate EMS services, i would consider to be the government/laws of EMS. Facilitates laws and rules to follow.
        
        Integration of Health Services: The pre-hospital care you
        provide to coordinate with the hospital. The communication of transfer care to the ED department, should commence while en route to ED to ensure appropriate transfer of care, specialists may need to be called in, or may need to arrive at a specific unit for NOI/MOI. Ensure accurate PCR for assistance.
        
        Mobile Integrated Health Care: Health Care training/tips/advice to civilians in a way. Good example is the CDC providing guidance to public health about COVID-19 prevention of spreading.
        
        EMS Research: Very important, evidence based practice stems from real world scenarios in which you analyze emergency care for more effective practices.Sometimes we may be doing things that doesn't make sense logically but thats "just how it was always done" that doesnt make it right though. EMS research is using what you realize works better to determine what you should be common practice based from trial and error.
        
        Medical Direction: "Mother May I" .Medical director that authorizes EMT service in the field. Helps determine the appropriate care for illness or injury. Medical control provided either off line (indirect: standing orders, protocol from training) or online (direct: real time communication from physician via phone or radio.
