Mr. Freeman is an art teacher, Melinda's favorite class. He is seen as a very laid back teacher, giving out tons of A's and letting students do whatever they want but the work has to be done. He is shown to like Melinda's work, and comment how her work has pain and emotion behind it. He gives off items for the students to draw, and Melinda draws a tree. Mr. Freeman's class is refereed to Melinda as her sanctuary, a place where she can be herself. Mr. Freeman is given no physical description, but we can deduce he is a middle age man with a passion for art.
