This quote means that Ms. Keen has been teaching for a very long time.

This quote means that Melinda feels like something hit her and broke her apart like the titanic

Warn the villagers"-pg. 87 This means that mom and dad are screaming to each other Melinda feels like they are volcanoes and she is a villager and has to get out quick before they erupt

This quote means that the wind was blowing so hard that her mom was pushing into her father.
Quotes
"We don't leave until way dark becuse she has so much work to do. Sales have sucked-she didm't get anywhere near the goal she set."-pg. 73. This quote tells us how much Melinda's mom is working in the clothing store. Because of this her mother does not know about her problems.
"A broken dream, perhaps? Plastic honeymoon, deserted island? Oh, if you put it in a slice of pumpkin pie, it could be a deserted island!"-pg. 64 This quote means that Mr. Freeman is the only person who understands what Melinda is feeling because he is the only one who can anlyze her painting and see her feelings.
"I don't have time for this, Melinda."-Pg.88 This quote can tell us that Melinda's Mother is just too occupied to talk to Melinda and becuase of her mom overworking herself she sos not notice the troubles that Melinda is going through
"I almost tell them right then and there. Tears flood my eyes."-pg. 72. When she tríes to tell her family about what happened to her she can't. It seems like it was something extremely hurtful for her.

"I just want to sleep. The whole point of not talking about it, of silencing the memory, is to make it go away, it wont. I'll need brain sugery to cut it out of my head."-pg 81-82. This quote is related with conlift becuase Melinda is saying that something that happened to her is so bad that she can never forget it and the she wants to fix it is by not talking about it
"He twirls my ponytail in his finges. Emily's eyes narrow. I mueble something idiotícese and run for the bathroom. I heavy lunch in the toilette, they wash my face with the ice water that come out of the hot faucet. Heather does not come looking for me."-pg 91 This quote is related to conflict because here she is telling the memory she cannot get out of her mind. As we can see she definetely went through something at the party she attended that traumatized her.
"This has meaning, Pain"-pg.63 This quote is said by Mr. Freeman when he starts inspecting Melinda's art. This is related to the conflict because he sees the pain in Melinda's art. This can tell us that Melinda is feeling the pain that is torturing her from inside.
