In the interest of production, and economics, there definitely will be an application for shifts in demand. Due to corona virus, many products are being bought out of supermarket as a way of stocking up on necessities for preparation of the quarantine . Most products undergo a shortage or surplus. Examples of these products may be toilet paper, hand sanitizer, soap, masks and other hygienic products that help prevent people from contracting the virus. This will affect the economy in both ways, products that aren't necessary are left there to collect dust, while necessities like food and water are completely bought out. So different sectors will experience different things. Sectors that deal with necessities and cleanliness like non perishable foods and drinks, will notice a huge boost in their sales while sectors that deal with wants like computers, phones, cars, fancy restaurants will notice a decay in their sales.
