Water (video 1)Link Title
-
-
one oxygen atom, two hydrogen atoms.
-
partly negative, partly positive
hydrogen side is positive...so it connects with the non hydrogen side of another oxygen making a hydrogen bond
Hydrogen bonds are not as strong as covalent bonds. Hydrogen bonds are where a positive and a negative bond connect.
-
-
in the cytoplasm of the cell. Cytoplasm fills your cells, sort of like gloop.

Water (video 2)Link Title
solvent
-
why it is a solvent?
ex. cation is attracted to the partially negative charge in the water molecule because it has a positive charge
ex. partially positive charge in the water molecule is attracted to the partially negative charge because the chloride anions are negative charged. they dissolve because of this. This makes a hydrogen bond.
it needs to have some charge to connect with the hydrogens or the electrons to dissolve. the thing that is to be dissolved needs to have a electric charge.

-
acidity levels
-
0 = acidic
batteries, lemon juice, vinegar, sodas, ect.
your blood is around 7.4, which is slightly basic.
-
7 = neutral
only 7 is neutral, even your blood is not.
