race A construct originally created to explain differences between people whose ancestors originated in differ- ent regions of the world-Africa, Asia, Europe, and so on.: An example is people orginating from Africa have more melanin in there skin than europeans this would be an aspect where people identify the race.
ethnicity A social construct that refers to the degree to which a person identifies with a particular group, usually on the basis of nationality, culture, religion, or some other unifying perspective.: The book gives an example of someone being mormon and that would be more how they identify.
intersectionality The idea that people are influenced in unique ways by the complex overlap and interactions of multiple identities.: An example is black woman who deals with sexism and racism and both those issues intersect.
