National Education System.
General Basic Education Level.
It is found within the Regular Subsystem, and is compounded by the following grades: First to ninth.
General basic education will provide the knowledge for comprehensive training to learn to be, learn to do, learn to learn and learn to live together.
They have the right to receive free and obligatory education if they are between four and fifteen years old. Adults are included if they do not finish this period.
To satisfy basic teaching necessities of the students and the society based on clear socio-politics, cultural, economics, psychological, pedagogical, ethic and moral values.
Media Education Level.
It is the responsibility of Middle Education to provide, through the teaching and learning processes, the knowledge, attitudes, skills and competences necessary for young people to carry out successfully in the field of continuing their studies or in the daily life of the world labor.
Objectives
Incorporate into society in a critical and participatory way, improving values.
Develop intellectual skills.
Strengthen the learning and use of the different forms of oral and written expression with a high degree of efficiency.
Develop the knowledge, attitudes, abilities and skills that prepare them to develop in the world of work.
Recognize the importance of cooperative work.
Reality
The current trend of the curricula for academic secondary education is to insert a component of career guidance that enables students to enter productive work and be able to continue higher education.
Higher Education Level
The third or higher level of education is made up of post-secondary education, non-university higher education and university higher education.
The State, through the Ministry of Education, has the obligation to provide the technical facilities, the necessary and appropriate resources to promote higher education.
Objectives.
Form specialized professionals in the investigation, dissemination and amplification of the universal national culture.
Duties.
State have to provide essential goods and resources to impel Higher Education adapting a well environment to the professional education in the different researches areas of human activity.
Reality.
In Panama there are official and private universities that have their entrance requirements well defined in general terms.
Non- Regular Sub-System of Education.
The pedagogical approach that sustains this program is oriented towards the joint participation of the educator, family, boy, girl, so that from the previous knowledge significant learning is developed.
The education of young people and adults are conceived as the set of educational actions that are developed at different levels, modalities and forms of learning
Special Education.
The Non-Regular Sub-System is characterized as an educational service oriented towards the population that due to its physical, sensory, mental or social conditions, is not in the possibility of optimally benefiting from the educational processes of the
regular subsystem.
