THE SOUND OF POETRY
Rhythm:Rhythm refers to any repeated pattern. In a poem the rhythm is the pattern of beats created by the syllables and stresses of the words in each line.
Slant Rhyme:Slant rhyme is a type of rhyme that occurs when two words repeat similar, but not identical, sounds.
Repetition and Parallelism:Poets often create special effects in their poems with repetition; which is the repeated use of sounds, words, phrases, lines, or even stanzas.
BLANK VERSE:Consists of any number of “unrhymed lines that are each ten syllables long with a stress on every other syllable.
Free verse:Free Verse is poetry that does not follow a regular, predictable pattern of rhythm, line length, or rhyme
ONOMATOPOEIA: Is the use of a word or phrase that actually imitates or suggests the sound of what it describes. Onomatopoeia reinforces a meaning and adds musical quality to a poem
ALLITERATION:Special sound effect, it is the repetition of consonant sounds within a short space.
ALLUSION:Is a reference to a work of literature or well known person, place or event from history.
