CURTAIN CALL ENSEMBLE
ROSE
-The most wild card of the bunch
-Was the most outwardly attached to the theatre in high school, and excited about the production set to happen years later.
-Quirky
-Bright red hair
-The most random wardrobe.
-Has tried every skill she's found interesting, even for a moment.
-The only one of the five who aspires to be an actress, but hasn't been able to land a solid gig.
-Looked up to Ms. Beattie like a mother –– she was never open about her tough, unsupportive situation at home.
-Tries to be the confident optimistic of the group, even thought it's clear she is struggling emotionally deep down.
-
THEO
-
-Most immature, never had a real job. Just able to live off the the small profits from internet stardom. But it's not enough.
-Comes from a very successful family who stopped helping him out once he dropped out of university in year one.
-Always has his phone in his hand, trying to capture something new for his "fans"
-
Theo never asked Camille for career help because he claims her persona does not match his "brand." In reality, he is too afraid to really make an effort.
Theo and Camille were also childhood friends. They drifted a bit because Theo become closer with Rose, and Camille also did not approve of any of the substances Theo used.
CAMILLE
-
-Works for a talent agency, but just starting out. Has a few small clients.
-Well put together, seems to put a lot of effort into her morning routine.
-Internally struggles with a lot of anxiety, which the friends wonder still exists after a breakdown in high school.
Rose often seeks out Camille to help her with her career, but Camille avoids the request. Without wanting to hurt Rose, she thinks having her as a client would hurt her own reputation this early on.
NATE
-Just started his own practice as a physiotherapist, but faces a lot of debt as a result.
-Has always been a go-getter, the "nice" jock in high school. Well respected by peers and teachers. His buddies wondered why he chose to join the theatre crew, but as an open-minded guy he just wanted to try something new.
In high school, Nate eventually distanced from his friends outside of theatre, especially after becoming closer to Harper and Theo.
But his friendship with Theo eventually suffered too. They were roommates in their first year at university, but Nate heavily disproved of Theo choosing to drop out. Nate saw Theo as everything he didn't want to be –– and that was it.
-Is stereotypically handsome as a white male raised by an upper-middle class family. The crew always chirped him for looking too much like the perfect lead.
-Very individualistic. No one called him out for only prioritizing his own success until his final fiery argument with Harper, which led her to go her own way.
HARPER
-Has a tech start up, but it's bleeding money quickly and needs new investors or a financial boost.
Always struggled with being shy and internal, which was often misunderstood with being non-ambitious and boring.
During high school, Harper was cast in vibrant, energetic roles. She always yearned to be like the characters she played. In the few years after graduating, Harper slowly broke out of her shell. This was with the help of Ms. Beattie whom she kept in touch with, but slowly lost contact with her after achieving her goal.
-Nate did not pay attention to Harper's gradual change, and assumed she was introverted and unopinionated for the entirety of their relationship. He often made big decisions without consulting her.
Rose, Camille, and Theo were the closest trio in high school. Theo and Rose remained best friends, and talked to Camille every now and then as well.
Their friendship with Nate and Harper slowly faded away, as the couple's relationship got stronger. But there were many disagreements up until their high school graduation anyway.
Though Rose and Theo are best friends, they never collaborated because Rose never saw Theo's work as real acting.
Harper and Nate began dating in grade 10 until their final year in university. They were even engaged for about a month, which is the last Ms. Beattie heard from them too.
Factors that went into the end of their relationship were financial distress and Nate always thought she was being dishonest about her feelings (for Rose).
But the main event was that Nate needed to move away for his career, and never considered that Harper took her work seriously enough to not come with him
-
Rose developed a crush on Harper near the end of high school, but kept it to herself as to not stir the pot in Harper and Nates relationship.
Harper eventually figured Rose out, but never made an active attempt to shut her down.
Nate picked up on this in high school and appeared to let it go, but his suspicions of desires Harper could have been keeping from him always stuck to the back of his mind.
