In my opinion, the invention of the microscope was fundamental for the development of the cell theory. Because, its magnifying glass permitted to see properly the cell and its composition. Without the microscope Hooke wouldn't be able to see and name the cells. Also, most importantly, without the microscope we couldn't develop the cell theory or know that cells exist at all. In addition, thanks to the MICROSCOPE observations, scientists developed the cell theory.
