Since the townspeople were going to lynch him, he flees Weed with his friend George.

George speaks for Lennie when the boss asks questions about him; this makes the boss suspicious. :question:
Curley, the boss's son, joins them and starts to be aggressive to Lennie.
George tells Lennie not be be attracted to Curley's wife, sensing the threat of Curley canning them. :warning:

Chapter 3

George and Lennie were born in the same town, and George got to take care of Lennie when his Aunt Clara died.

Curley is annoyed by the other workers and starts to punch Lennie. Lennie doesn't know what to do at first, but breaks Curley's hand when George tells him to fight back.
Chapter 4
Lennie enters Crooks's room, but Crooks tells him to get out.

Chapter 5
Lennie is alone in the barn, having killed his puppy by punching him slightly.

He makes Curley's wife suffocate to death without intention, and flees the barn to hide in the bushes where he first visited when he entered the village.
Chapter 6
Lennie hallucinates as Aunt Clara and an imaginary rabbit enter Lennie's mind, saying that George is going to abandon him.
