        Schlieffen Plan:
        The Schlieffen Plan was a plan to attack France due to Russia starting to prepare for war.The led to Britain declaring war on Germany on August 4,1914
        
        Battle of Somme:
        The battle of somme started on July 1,1916 and ended on November 18,1916.The battle showed the horrors of the war.The allies gained some land.
        
        Battle of Verdun:
        The battle of verdun started on February 21,1916 and ended on December 18,1916.The battle was the longest of WWI.The French won this battle.
        
        Triple Alliance:
        The Triple Alliance(Central powers) consisted of Germany,Austria Hungary,the Ottoman empire,and Bulgaria.The major leaders were Wilhelm II,Franz Joseph I of Austria,Mehmed V, and Ferdinand I of Bulgaria.
        
        Triple Entente:
        The Triple Entente(Allied powers) consisted of Britain,France,Russia,Italy,and the United states.The major leaders were David Lloyd George,Wilhelm II,Nicholas II Of Russia,Vladimir Lenin,and Woodrow Wilson.
        
        US enter the war:
        The US joined the Allied powers.The 2 main events that caused the US to join the war was the sinking of the ship Lusitania and the Zimmermann telegram.This was a turning point for the war because now the allied powers had more support.
        
        Russia leaves the war:
        An armistice is a temporary agreement between two countries to stop fighting.Russia left the war because many of their soldier had died or been captured.Germany now had to only focus on one front since the eastern front no longer need to be fought in.

        The United States,France,Italy,Great Britain were involved in creating this treaty.Germany and the central powers were not involved int his treaty.Germany was punished the most by this treaty.The short term effects was that Germany had to accept all the blame and had to pay for everything.This made the German people feel bitter and angry.The long term effects was that Germany felt bitter which caused another major conflict.
