The Four Noble Truths
These are seen as a medical formula: illness, cause, cure and remedy.

The cure is enlightenment. Enlightenment helps see the origin, therefore how to get rid of it.
The remedy would be the Eightfold Path, which leads to Nirvana, where there is no suffering.
Dhamma, Sangha and Buddha
Dhamma is the teachings from the Buddha, and Sangha is the community of Buddhists.
The three cannot work without each other, as the Dhamma could not have been taught without the Buddha and could not have been followed without the Sangha. These three are inseparable, and are known as the Tiratana.
"I take refuge in the Buddha, I take refuge in the Dhamma, I take refuge in the Sangha".
When Buddhists take refuge in these three things, they are saying it is the beginning of the pursuit of enlightenment.
Origins of Buddhism
It is an Indian religion that started 2500 years ago. It is a religion that is about suffering and how to get rid of it.
The founder was called Siddhartha Gotama- also known as the Buddha. The religion is named after him.
The Buddha never had any connections to God: his status in Buddhism is elevated because he became enlghtened.
