Electrical Signals
It´s an electrical magnitude whose value or intensity varies depends on time
Testing Signals
Sine
It´s the most common of the testing signal.
This signal can be attributed a double symmetry, one with respect to the time axis, and the other one with respect to the midpoint of the wave. Both half cycles are identical only varying in the sign
Rectangular and Square
Only two possible values. The pass from a value to other is called flank, rising or falling.
They can be continous or not. The relation between time, the positive semi-cycle and period is called useful cycle
Triangular
They have a constant growth and decrease, its velocity is called slope
If the two slopes are same, it´s a triangular signal. But opposite case is called sawtooth
Common Characteristics
Alternating and Continuos Signals
Alternate signals are opposite of continous. Their sign varies cannot be constant.
The continous they keep their sign the same. They are always positive or negative, can be constant and variant.
Periodic Signals
Aperiodics
It´s impossible to define them a cycle
Periodics
You can define a repeatability pattern
Peak amplitude is the maximum value from 0 of the signal.
Peak to peak amplitude is the difference between the maximum and minimum value.
Frequency: Amount of cycles that can be done in a second.
Effective value is the equivalent value of a constant continuos signal capable of develop the same power as the periodic signal
Constants and Variants Signals
The constants ones don't vary. It´s graphic representation is a horizontal line
The variant signals change their value according time
Operations between signals
The multiplication must also be point by point.
Substraction also point by point
The sum of two signals must always be done point by point.
