Caractristics of the electrical signals
Testing signals
Sinusoidal signal
This signals have double simetry, one in the time and the other one respecting the middle point of the signal. This means that the middle point of the signals is always 0. Another thing to mention is that if a sinusoidal signal is delayed 90° you will know have o cosinusoidal signal.
Square and Rectangle waves/signals
This is a periodic signal that only haves two possible values. If the duty cycle is any percentage other than 50%, the result is a rectangle wave. The rectangle wave, also called a pulse wave, may have any number of different duty cycles, but like the square wave, its harmonic spectrum is related to its duty cycle.
Triangale wave
A triangle wave is a non-sinusoidal waveform named for its triangular shape. It is a periodic, continuous real function. The speeds of growth and decrease are called slopes. If both slopes are equal the sign will be called triangular; otherwise it will will call sawtooth.
Electric signal
It´s an electrical signal dependent on time, it is measured with three essential points: Voltage, amplitude and time, the second being dependent on the third.
Basic operations in signals
Addition
The additon of 2 signals must be done point by point, thsi means you have to sum the same point in the same time having in consideration the correct signs.
Multipliy with a cosntant
In this particular case the result is the same signal variant increased at its maximum values and minimum times as the constant says.If the constant is negative the resultimmediate is to observe the variant signalinverted with respect to the time axis.
Subtraction
The signal that your goingto substract must be multilied by -1 to beadded to tha other one.
Common specs
Constant and variant signals
The constant ones are the type that dont change even if the time changes.
The variant one are the opposite of the constat, this are always changing in time.
Continue and alternate signals
The continue type are the ones that always have the same sign, positive and nule or negative and nule. This does not mean that it haves to be costant, it can aslo be variant.
The altern type of signal is also the oposite of the continue one, it can have any sign and it will never be constant
Periodic signals
Thsi kind of singals are the ones where ypu can find a pattern in ow they are presented.
They loop in a specific amount of time. Thsi pattern is know as
Wave cycle
or only
cycle
.
They also have a defined frecuency, frecuency is the number or cycles that a signal acan make in a second.
The aperiodic signal are the ones where you cant find a pattern.
