Separation methods
By particle size
-
Seperation by sieving: This is a method when two fine materials that can't be chosen but have difference in size are sieved
Separation by filtering: some solid don't disolve in liquids or water so they are filtered by filters
Separation by dialyses: when kidneys stop working this method is a treatment for it. The dirty blood is taken and dialysed in the machine and it is send back to the host
Seperation by electrification: Some substances may easily be atracted to electricity so if you have a mixture you can take a rod and electrify it and seperate the mixture
Seperation by magnet: Fe,Ni,Co is atracted to magnet so if there is a mixture containing one of the above elements can be seperated by magnet.
By density
Separation by decantation: When a dens object is sinked in water the up part is free so pouring that side very carefully to another container and roughly separating.
-
seperation by chuk away: solids with different densities fall differently and if its density is lower enough wind can separate it
-
seperation by precipitation: two solutions when mixed does a chemical reaction and make a unsoluble liquid that precipitates
By solubility difference
Separation by fractional crystalization: If there is two solids and both of them are soluble you can seperate it by the method of change in solubility in tempreture difference
separation by extraction: To extract something from the things in nature Ex:Extractıng salisilik acid from Salicaceae
