I am very hard-working and organized this allows me to work on many different things at the same time without hurting the quality of the work. My main field of work is in Video production and within that I have to be able to adapt and follow various different schedules.
One of my main factors in a position is growth, I like to know that after working in a specific position for so long i'll be able to grow into a higher position after earning it.
As someone who likes to have freedom in certain aspects of a job I think it does. When editing videos it can almost be a thumb print of the creator because people all have their own styles. This is something that I like to show in my work.
In terms of ethics that can come in the form of being sure to not cut the words of a person out of context to change their entire thoughts. Another thing is simply not stealing things from others without giving credit.
I think the best way for me to continue to educate myself in this industry would simply be to keep working. In video the best way to learn things is simply to do it, I know that I have learned so much more about video production at my current job than I have in most courses that I have taken.
One of the biggest trends in video production today would be Virtual reality technology. People are looking to make this technology more and more a part of the current viewing experience.
The growth in this industry could push someone from a content editor to a senior editor all the way to a producer. This will come as you show that you can work in the preferred environment and can be someone who is a self starter.
I currently have no plans for further education, most of the positions that I have found only require a bachelors. Therefore unless there is a job that requires anything further I will take that route but for now I think this industry will be fine with a bachelors.
I plan to put my money into a savings as I do now and also have a 401K plan. After having that set up I also intend to be involved in the stock market and make another form of income via investments.
In terms of long term financial goals I think it can be summed up into just having financial freedom. Financial Freedom to me means that I will be able to do the things that I want to do at any moment, or to be able to take care of those that I love.
Management Positions in this area would pay between $100,000-$150,000
My particular budget will be feasible for me to follow but seeing that it will be after graduation it will still be a challenge.
Something that I have done more recently is save a higher percentage of my paychecks and putting it into savings so that I can have money for the times that I really need it. I think that is something that will really help me in the long run as I move further along.
In terms of major changes I don't think I have to do that because I view myself as being financially responsible. If anything I would just have to adapt to the new area and the expenses but nothing dramatic should have to be done as I feel I will set myself up pretty well.
