MONOCYTIC LEUKEMIA
DEFINITION
A group of malignant bone marrow neoplasms of myeloid precursors of white blood cells
PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
Greater than 80% are of monocytic lineage
There is a mixture of mono blast and promonocyte
In the bone marrow
It is more common in young individuals
Patient has grater than 20% blast
The monocytes have rough cellular nucleus
