Healthy Pastry Snacks
Pasties
Potato and Leek Pasties
Potato and leek pasties are very simple yet delicious. The pastry is filled with potato, leek, herbs and a few other ingredients. Although they are starchy they are still more healthy than some other pastry snacks.
Apple Turnovers
Apple turnovers are dessert pasty. Although they are technically are a "desert" they are still decently healthy if you make them well and they are tasty too.
Pie
Chicken Pie
Although not traditionally considered a "healthy" food as long as you use good ingredients you can maker it a lot healthier. This chicken pie utilises a lot of vegetables balancing out the fatty pastry.
Apple Pie
Apple pies are traditionally considered rather unhealthy, and you would be correct, but this apple pie uses minimum butter and wholegrain flour to make it just that little bit healthier and better yet it does it without compromising the taste. The filling of the pie contains apple coupled with brown sugar and cinnamon (among other things) for sweetening while the base is a nice wholegrain pastry.

These are of course very similar to the ham and broccoli pastry puffs except instead of ham and broccoli the inside of this puff is spinach, feta and onion. Delicious.
Pinwheels
Mediterranean Pinwheels
Mediterranean food is normally quite healthy and these pinwheels take that "healthiness" and put in into pinwheel pastries. These pastries have tomato, spinach pesto.
Parmesan Pinwheels
Parmesan pinwheels are very simple. You get Parmesan cheese, parsley and more added ingredients and that creates a mixture that you spread on the pastry. You then sprinkle the pancetta on top. This makes for a light, tasty snack.
