  - - - A score of 10 is inficative of depression & it is probable that a score of 13 is likely to be suffering from a depressive disorder of varying degrees. the maximum score that one can gage is 30.
        
        It is recommended that this is not used as a formal diagnostivv tool, but rather as a regular screening tool to gage the mothers mood
        
        Question 10: refers to if any thoughts of harming self or others have been experienced over the past fortnight, if a three is scored on this then referral to the ABC team is pertinent, as the mother require urgent mental health care. Another thing that nurses need to consider is that if the mother hersled is in danger then her baby's safety needs to be considered as well.
