Egyptian Civilization
Social hierarchy
The Pharaoh and his family were at the top of the social hierarchy, due to their importance and the necessity for proper governing.
Nobles / Priests were the next in the pyramid, for they helped the Pharaoh with making big decisions for the city.
Craftsmen were treated fairly well, since they were usually very important for the Pharaoh, since they produced furniture that was either traded or given to the Pharaoh.
Farmers and laborers were important, for they were the reason why The civilization was able to prosper and stay healthy and wealthy.
Slaves were always the people who were treated very poorly. They were always treated like dirt, and they were almost never given proper clothing and housing. Sometimes they were not even given proper food and water to keep them healthy.
Scribes were the only people who could read and write in Ancient Egypt. They were important since they were the ones who recorded how a Pharaoh's life was, as well as how the civilization was working.
Before Unison
Before Egypt was one country, Egypt was split into two parts, Upper and Lower Egypt. Upper Egypt was in the South, while Lower Egypt was in the North.
When Upper Egypt defeated Lower Egypt, the King of Upper Egypt wore the Lower Egypt crown atop his own, to show unison between the two parts.
Before becoming two separate kingdoms, Upper and Lower Egypt were two groups of people who farmed on the banks of the Nile. They would only fight for more farmland and materials.
The ruler who conquered Lower Egypt was Aha Menes. The Ancient Egyptians believed that he became the god Horus after death. Aha Menes was the only Pharaoh to be buried in the Sphinx. The Sphinx had the head of a man but the body of a lion, showing both physical and mental skills that Aha Menes had shown that time.
Conquering Nubia
-
Nubia was one of the civilizations that Egypt had traded with in the past, and when Egypt invaded, they took over the land. The people of Nubia took this as a big betrayal.
This conquest resulted in Nubia's gold becoming Egypt's property. This was one source from which Egypt got its gold for weapons, armor and ornaments.
After word had spread about Egypt conquering Nubia, most of the surrounding states began to fear the Egyptians, making them a very powerful kingdom for the time period
Infrastructure
In Ancient Egypt, the houses were primarily made from mud mud bricks and used the bricks to make roofs as well.
Some buildings like the pyramids were made from limestone, and kept going up, gradually getting smaller the higher up it went. The pyramids were built in this fashion because the people believed that it helped the Pharaoh reach the afterlife (heaven)./
The Ancient Egyptians also built temples to worship gods like Ra, Isis and Horus. This was another belief that the Egyptians had, if they worshiped these particular gods, they will favor them when the time comes for a particular god to make an action.
Town Planning
The town planning in Ancient Egypt was a very simple linear pattern. This is because the civilization ran along the river Nile and its delta. Some people say that the town planning of the Ancient Egyptians was more like a grid and linear pattern.
The Ancient Egyptians had many roads, and sections of buildings which define what part of the social hierarchy the particular person was a part of.
