Wages and Salaries
Wage: Salary plus other benefits like health insurance or paid gas
Integrated Salary, it is made out from:
Nominal Salary
Incentives (Bonuses or Compensations)
Extra benefits (Health Insurance, paid gas, Parachute, etc.).
There are only 3 benefits decreed by law; vacation time (6 days after a year), holiday bonus and christmas box (15 days of salary)
Always ask your salary based on the integrated salary, not the nominal one.
Salary: It's only made out from liquid money
Nominal Salary
Is based on charts per position with minimums and maximums of possible salaries, in order to maintain the market equilibrium and competitiveness
In Mexico, salaries may go from MXN $3,600 for trainees up to MXN $220,000 for VPs, which shows how big inequality is in this country.
Must cover at least your Minimum Cost of Living, ideally based on the 50/20/30 rule; which distributes 50% of your salary on needs, 30% on savings and 20$ on wants.
Salary may be gross or net
Gross: Before tax rates
Net: After tax rates (in Mexico the rates go from 1.92% up to 35%, depending on your salary)
COLA: The Cost of Living Adjustment applies by law for foreigners or Mexicans sent to other countries. This tool helps to equate salaries in other countries based on the position of the active sent abroad.
Performance Evaluation Process
Helps to see how employees are doing compared with their objectives.
Three types of evaluations
90º: Boss and employee.
180º: Boss, employee and a team member.
360º: Boss, employee, a team member and a client.
Stages
1.-Preparation: You see how you are going to evaluate each employee
2.-Sensitization: notify the employees about the evaluation, and give incentives to those who make it fast (usually are the ones prepared).
3.- Evaluation Process.
4.-Data Collection
Reports Making
Feedback
Development Plans
Usually the most prepared (MA, LW ) receive incentives to keep them in the enterprise.
Vacancies are prepared for both positions, in case the most prepared employees find a better job or the less prepared ones fail to achieve their objectives.
The less prepared (FB/ OT) receive ultimatums, and must comply with some objectives in a short period of time
