DEFINITION
A condition where there is increase secretion of parathormone(PTH) which causes hypercalcemia
PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
On primary the elevated secretion of PTH
Causes rapid absorption of calcium from bones
Either primary or secondary hyperparathyroidism
which result to high level of calcium in the blood
The secondary part there is resistance in metabolism action of PTH

CAUSES
Cancerous growth
Adenoma of one of the parathyroid gland
Genetic predisposition
CLINICAL MANIFESTATIONS
weakness
Anorexia
Bone and joint pain
Depression or psychosis
Kidney stones
Chronic renal failure
PHARMACOLOGY
Provide analgesics for pain
Loop diuretics to decrease calcium level
Calcitonin
Bisphosphonates
Aluminium hydroxide gel
DIET
Provide patient with food high in Phosphate
Monitor phosphate on renal patients
Provide food low in calcium
