Part 1: Exploring 2D Forms

- Look at where, when, who, and how printmaking is used
- Source and identify examples of the four main printing techniques (5 examples for each technique min)
- Look at traditional and modern tools, equipment, and materials. Labelling each and a description of the tools used.
Part 2: Plan and Experiment
- Develop your concept. Write a proposal for the series of cards. Proposal should detail what your cards would be, how you intend to develop the concept, and examples of the drawing stage for visual understanding from peers.
- Upload the proposal to connect discussion board, get 3 pieces of feedback, and record in EVD
- Make final refinements to the proposal before development work begins
- Gather knowledge of card sizes used in the industry and evidence this in the EVD
- Finalisation of card size
- Produce a mock up viewing window
- Use Viewing window to select the composition of the final image.
- Evidence the use of the viewing window for the 3-6 concepts
Part 3: Communicating the concept
- Production of an initial black and white concept for your range
- Swap work with a partner and make one change each to their initial concepts including annotation
- Make a final modification based on the changes made
Scan in 300DPI, Full colour, and TIFF format
- Scan in 300DPI, Full colour, and TIFF format. Save in working folder and place into EVD
- Final designs including full colour and indication of dimensions
- Practical workshop - Undertaking the printmaking of your final working range of prints
- Minimum of 3 photographs documenting you working during the printmaking stage
- Scan in all sample prints and final cards
- Rationale of your project
