Spaniards found the avocado on their journeys through South America. Aztecs used avocados to make a sauce called guacamole. Tomatoes were also a fruit discovered during the Columbian Exchange
This happened on his second voyage that took place in 1493. When he found pineapples he named them pineapples because they slightly resemble a pine cone. He brought the new and interesting fruit back to England with him and introduced it to European countries and it became a part of the Columbian Exchange.
