        In both interpretations, humans are inevitable to sin from the original sin or an inbuilt desire to sin. Either way sin results in damnation.

  - - - This is similar to the idea of an omnipotent creator. This is the belief that id the universe was made by God and he is all powerful, then he must control everything.

      - One of the key ideas about this theory is that God sustains the universe. He prevents the universe from falling into watery chaos.

        The theory that the future is fixed and there is nothing we can do to change it.
    - - Because God is omnipotent, he must also be omniscient. He knows the past, present and future which means the future is fixed and unavoidable. This is called theological determinism. This would mean that humans have no free will and God has absolute control on everyone's actions.
      - An alternative view is based on Aquinas and its that God does not exist in our time but rather timelessly. He only sees the result of our future. This allows free will to exist, God has the power to intervene and control but does not for the sake of free will.
  - - - This means that God is above the space-time universe. Believing that God exists in time or space would be limiting them and that's a nono. God did not create himself, God is his own existence.
      - ‘ No one comprehends the thoughts of God except the spirit of God’
      - Otto focuses on God's holiness, in the sense of him being numinous and transcendent. An example of this is when God tells moses to take off his shoes because he is on holy ground. God describes himself as ‘I am who I am’.
