There are various gifts that the Spirit pours out onto the body of Christ. This chapter in vs
7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8 To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,[a] and to still another the interpretation of tongues.[b] 11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.
So these are all gifts that the Spirit pours out on the Body of Christ, on each of us who have been baptized into Christ, Jesus will grant you a gift or many gifts to use. Now is this an exhaustive list? .....I don't think so Romans 12
6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your[a] faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead,[b] do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.
This list is similar but slightly different, mercy is mentioned as a gift like wise, giving and showing encouragement are listed as gifts.
are all of these gifts still available to us today? More specifically the gifts of prophecy, or tongues/languages, miraculous healing/ the Charismatic gifts. Personally I can't say its clear from scripture, ( Its cited that the latter part of 1 Cor 13, points to the charismatic gifts at other gifts ceasing at some point and in Acts when Simon the sorcerer tried to buy the ability to give the gifts of the Holy Spirit from Peter, because he saw that it was given at the point the apostles laid their hands)
The evidence of what we see in other denominations , again for me personally does not seem convincing. But again for me personally I hesitate to say outright that the gifts of the Holy Spirit have ceased or that what some one claims is a gift is not so, I'm very fearful of God, This particular case of blasphemy, however, is called “the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit” in Matthew 12:31. The Pharisees , having witnessed irrefutable proof that Jesus was working miracles in the power of the Holy Spirit, claimed instead that the Lord was possessed by a demon....Jesus says this is an unforgivable sin.......that is all I will say about that.
The issue the Corinthian church was running into however, was that the church meetings were disorderly and people were showing no care for their brothers and sisters especially the rich toward the poor.
